AgroLeasing OJSC Received New Agricultural Machinery

AgroLeasing OJSC has received a next consignment of agricultural machinery, Tariyel Rasulov, Head of the Company informed Trend.

According to him, up to date, the State Agency has received combines, 464 tractors, 20 excavators, and 1,443 units of different kinds of agricultural machinery.

The volume of the pesticides and fertilizers bought in this period was 29,000 tons. They have been delivered to the Company. Only 3,000 tons remained to be delivered in a day or two.

The Chief of AgroLeasing said that issue on softening the terms on presenting agricultural machinery to the farmers, which was bought by the State Agency, remained open. On the basis of appeals concerning the high duties of AgroLeasing presenting and selling agricultural machinery to the farmers, which have been received by the State Agency, and taking into consideration the situation with farmers in the regions, the Azerbaijan Agriculture Ministry jointly with AgroLeasing have prepared proposals concerning this issue. The proposals have already been submitted to the Government for further consideration. It is expedient to prolong the term on paying the credit from the existing 5 years up to 10.

"No advances in this direction have been observed", said Mr. Rasulov.

In 2005, the Government granted 100 bln. old manats. 8 bln. out of them were spent on the State Agency management, the rest amount of the means was sent to buy new agricultural machinery.

In 2006, the means given to AgroLeasing have reached 28 mln. AZN. More than 1,000 units of agricultrural machinery are expected to be bought on these means til the end of the year.

AgroLeasing OJSC was established on October 23, 2004 in accordance with the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The activity of the enterprise is aimed at improving the agricultural sphere and maintaining the entrepreneurship in the country through introducing of the agricultural machinery to local farmers and land owners in the country through leasing. Presently, the State Agency has more than 40 agricultural machinery and technical service branches in the regions.
